About Ingelosi Trading
Piet and Laetitia Michau started farming with Emus in 2005 after reading an interesting article in the
Landbouweekblad. They realized that incubators and hatchers then on the market were very expensive and
not efficient in all aspects. Piet decided to build his own. He was soon inundated with orders from
other farmers for his incubators and hatchers.
After thorough research, Laetitia decided to develop Emu oil based cosmetic and health range and
entered the market in April 2007. Ingelosi Cosmetics, produced by well known pharmacitical laboratories
in South Africa, is already a well established brand and the range of products on offer is already well
known for their wonderful results.
Due to personal reasons, the family decided in 2007 to sell their businesses. They contacted me and I
was given an option to take over the entire business. I immediately saw the potential, and although I
entered the industry with one pair of birds in February 2007, I was convinced that the Emu industry has
an exciting and challenging future. Although, my technical knowledge was limited, I appointed a very
capable technician and we are now geared to provide excellent service to the industry.
